The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) offers the necessary academic experience towards becoming a Registered Dietitian. It is designed for individuals who wish to complete their dietetic internship following their attainment of a Bachelor's of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition.
The B.S.S.W. degree is accredited by the CSWE and educates students for empirically based, generalist practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities.
The M.S. graduate program integrates dietetics and advanced nutrition science with research to prepare graduates to function as practitioners with advanced knowledge and skills in dietetics. Dietetic Internship is available on a highly competitive basis.
The M.P.H. program with a major in Biostatistics includes two years of coursework and a practicum. As an MPH student, you will be trained in theoretical concepts as well as the application of biostatistical methods in the field of public health and medical research. M.S. and Ph.D. programs will be offered in the near future.
This program provides a comprehensive foundation in environmental and occupational health. After successful completion of this program, students will be able to address, prevent and control emerging environmental health problems such as exposure to toxic agents, hazardous waste, and different forms of radiation and infectious hazards. The coursework culminates with an internship experience, which helps to prepare for a career in environmental health.
This program provides rigorous theoretical and practical training to apply epidemiologic principles to the prevention of acute and chronic diseases. After successful completion of this program, students will be able to conduct applied epidemiological work related to disease monitoring, study and prevention.
This program emphasizes public health policy analysis, health economics, and public health leadership and management. Students receive training in a variety of research methods and can also receive a graduate certificate in healthcare management from the College of Business.
This program exposes students to courses in community assessment, organization, planning and program evaluation. As a graduate, you will be able to analyze social, cultural and behavioral determinants of various health issues and conditions. Graduates will also be able to address health disparities by designing, planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion programs, policies, and interventions.
The M.S.W. degree is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and prepares students for advanced clinical social work practice. The program educates students for empirically based practice in social service agencies and is based on a perspective that recognizes the interconnectedness between people and their environment.
The Ph.D. program in Dietetics & Nutrition prepares graduates to assume leadership roles in research, academia, government agencies, private industry and community-based organizations. Degree requirements include original research and presentation of a dissertation.
This program equips students with the knowledge to apply quantitative methods to help reduce environmental risk to improve public health. Students seeking advanced training may choose to research occupational health or environmental toxicology/environmental health.
This program equips students with the knowledge to apply quantitative methods in examining the conditions and determinants of health and disease in populations, and to become scholars who are able to conduct research and pedagogic work related to epidemiology and public health.
Effective HPDP programs must be informed by well-executed research and data analysis, as well as community collaboration. The knowledge and skills gained in this program will qualify graduates to conduct research, apply theoretical perspectives, research findings and experiences to answer complex public health questions. Accomplished researchers are in demand by employers in government, community organizations, private industry, and academia.
This program prepares students for careers in research, university teaching and leadership in social welfare. Through a combination of courses, seminars, and collaborative study and research opportunities, students are guided to develop and strengthen their skills in methods of scientific inquiry.

This program seeks to provide graduate-level practical knowledge in epidemiology to public health practitioners. Students will be provided with a scientific foundation to describe and study factors related to disease risk. They will also learn to appraise sources of data and make practical applications using epidemiologic methods.
This program provides graduate-level instruction in HPDP to non-graduate degreed practitioners. The certificate provides a suitable alternative for professionals in the field of Public Health looking to further their knowledge or advance their credentials.
This certificate provides B.S.S.W. students with the specialized skills, knowledge, and practice competencies in order to carry out the services and statutory responsibilities for the care and protection of children; and to provide the community-based care (CBC) providers with skilled staff, that are prepared to meet the critical service needs of Florida's children and families.
This certificate of specialization with the elderly provides Advanced Clinical Social Work Practice for MSW students, and Social Work professionals interested in working with the elderly.
The social work certificate in addictions provides specialized clinical training for social work students and professionals working in the addictions field.
The Pediatric Nutrition Graduate Certificate Program is an online graduate/professional certificate program that consists of two (2) core courses plus at least three (3) additional specialty courses over an academic year (15 graduate credits, Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters).
A twelve-credit nutrition course sequence at the undergraduate level affords students the opportunity to study food and nutrients, their physiological functions, normal nutritional requirements, socioeconomic influences on food choices and other aspects of food technology. The required science foundation courses provide the necessary background of chemistry and biological sciences to understand the physiological and biochemical basis of nutrition, as a multi-disciplinary science with relevance to health.
A minor in social welfare is available to baccalaureate degree-seeking students who are interested in careers in the human service field or who wish to study how common human needs are addressed by social welfare programs. The courses that comprise the minor will provide students with the opportunity to relate to the special concerns of our region, including poverty, crime and delinquency, child abuse and neglect, and family instability.
