Our students learn to identify why some people get sick and others don’t and provide critical information that can be used to improve the health of entire populations. From its development in the 19th century to understand and prevent infectious diseases such as cholera, to its modern application of studying factors associated with non-communicable diseases like cardiovascular disease and cancer, epidemiology is a science rooted in finding solutions to serious public health problems.
We aim to train highly qualified professionals who are experts in understanding and investigating the etiology of diseases and their risks in the society. You will able to:
Our mission: Provide students with the skills to detect, prevent and control human disease and to promote the health and well being of the public through innovative research, education and training.
Our epidemiology degree programs promote intellectual exchange and collaboration for excellence in education, methodological and applied research and service. The program equips students with strong analytic and quantitative skills to be as successful in designing and conducting public health investigations, disease surveillance, innovative interventions and methodological research.
