The Certificate in Risk Management is a six-month comprehensive learning experience offered in Spanish to healthcare professionals in Latin America. The Certificate develops and strengthens risk management capabilities among foreign hospital managers. The program integrates three areas that facilitate the diffusion and adoption of risk management innovation: Training, on-site workshops, and networking opportunities.
The training area is composed of five 15-hour online and onsite courses: (1) Risk Management in Healthcare Institutions, (2) Patient Safety, (3) Disaster Risk Management and Emergency Preparedness, (4) Risk Management Leadership, and (5) Financial Risk Management. Participants are exposed to business practices through a six-day on-site workshop in Miami that includes visits to three leading hospital systems: Miami Children’s Health System, Baptist Health South Florida, and Jackson Health System. The visits offer an opportunity for observations, interactive learning, and discussion with hospital managers.
