Dr. Vukosava Pekovic is a clinical assistant professor and the M.P.H. Program Director. She directed programs in the Institute of Public Health of Serbia (prevention & control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, health needs & services assessment), and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County (childhood lead poisoning prevention and bio-terrorism preparedness programs). In addition to teaching, she oversees M.P.H. practicum, accreditation, and advises Stempel Public Health Association and epidemiology students. Her research includes adolescent health behavior in Serbia, TB prevention and patient compliance in sub–Saharan Africa, lead poisoning among immigrant children in Miami, Florida, and disaster planning and health needs for older adults.
