Dr. Wnuk’s research interests involve bioorganic chemistry of nucleosides and nucleic acids with applications in biochemistry and in anticancer and antiviral medicine. In the past 20 years, his research program has been funded by the American Heart Association, the National Institutes of Health, and the Department of Defense. He has mentored 15 Ph.D. and 10 M.S. graduates and over 60 undergraduate students. Dr. Wnuk authored over 130 publications, five book chapters, and two patents. He received his Ph.D. and habilitation from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. After postdoctoral training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, and research appointments at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, he accepted a position in the Department of Chemistry of Florida International University in 1997.
