Biography

Ms. Stephanie Garcia received her Masters of Public Health in Biostatistics from FIU’ s Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work in 2013. She joined the Department of Biostatistics in 2014 and is currently a research scientist, statistical computing director and REDCap Administrator for the Biostatistics Consulting and Service Center (BCSC; previously Integrated Biostatistics and Data Management Center). Ms. Garcia has five years of experience providing biostatistical analysis, data management and data quality support for research investigators and graduate students across and beyond FIU campus. During this time, Ms. Garcia has worked on seven grants with a total value of over $18,000,000.  She has published in refereed journals including Journal of Behavioral Health, Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, Journal of Drug Abuse and the National Medical Journal of India. In addition to Ms. Garcia’s research activity and experience as a data manager and biostatistician, she actively participates in promoting wellness initiatives on campus through various committee memberships.

The Biostatistics Consulting Service Center is operated by the Department of Biostatistics within the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work at Florida International University. Our mission is to provide expertise in statistics and data analytics related to public health, medicine and other research areas.
