Funding Your Education

At Stempel College, we understand that your academic success goes hand in hand with your access to financial aid and funding opportunities.  As a Stempel College student, you have access to a myriad of funding options by degree level (bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral) and by academic disciplined (Dietetics & Nutrition, Public Health, and Social Work).

This page provides you with the basics on applying for financial aid and funding your education. Additionally, the page provides you with resources and information about scholarships that are just for Stempel College students, university-wide scholarships for all FIU students, and external funding opportunities in specific areas of study.

Financial Aid and your FAFSA Application

As you begin to consider funding opportunities and scholarship options, you want to first make sure that you’ve submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) first, and list FIU as the institution that should be receiving your FAFSA records and Student Aid Report (SAR). Depending on your specific situation and status, you may be eligible for federal aid. Additionally, most scholarship or fellowship applications may require completion of a FAFSA application.

The FAFSA application can be accessed at: https://fafsa.ed.gov/

To learn more about the type of aid that is available (i.e., grants, loans, work-study jobs, etc), make sure to visit the FAFSA page on Types of Aid: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types
