Biography

Altheresa Clark is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth and Community Sciences from the University of Florida and a Master of Social Work with a focus in child welfare from Florida International University. She began her work in the case management field while working with Citrus Health and has since held positions in the field of crisis intervention, medical social work, group facilitation, and mental health. She has worked with adults, families, diverse populations, adults with chronic illness, and dual diagnosis. She has also assisted in facilitating therapeutic treatment groups and provided community-based services for underserved populations impacted by trauma and grief. Prior to joining FIU, she has spent the last 6 years providing mental health services as a therapist within the BIPOC community. She brings a plethora of clinical knowledge that she is excited to bring as a faculty member here at Florida International University. In addition to her clinical role, she possesses expertise in community organizing, advocacy, and has established several community partnerships in her social work career.
