Child Welfare, Human trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), Trauma-Focused Interventions
Dr. Ivania Delgado has 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups in both public and private sectors in Miami-Dade County. Dr. Delgado’s most recent clinical experience includes working with foster-care youth who were negatively impacted by commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking who may have been involved with Miami Dade County’s G.R.A.C.E. Court which is part of the Juvenile Dependency Division of the Miami-Dade Courts. G.R.A.C.E. Court – Growth Renewed through Acceptance, Change and Empowerment– which is a specialized court devoted to the needs of children who have been identified as victims of commercial sexual exploitation and labor trafficking. She has participated in multidisciplinary conferences and collaborated on diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, formulating clinical recommendations, and delivery of services for the clients. Dr. Delgado has experience completing evaluations including but not limited to surgical clearances, learning disorder rule-outs, general intelligence, emotional functioning, personality evaluations, and vocational rehabilitation with children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and traumatic brain injury patients. Dr. Delgado joins FIU with over 13 years of adjunct teaching experience at the undergraduate college level.
