Chair, Department of Dietetics and Nutrition
HIV and Nutrition
Dr. Adriana Campa has been a registered dietitian for more than 30 years in Miami-Dade. During those years, she forged many strong connections in this community through her clinical, community and research activities. She became a tenured associate professor at Florida International University in 2012, where she is currently involved in numerous teaching and research activities. She has conducted research on HIV and nutrition in Panama, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Mexico and Botswana, as well as the impoverished areas of Miami-Dade County. Dr. Campa has mentored more than 50 graduate student projects and has extensively published with her students. Dr. Campa is currently the incoming chair of the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition, and a member of the USDA National Agricultural Research, Extension, Education, and Economics (NAREEE) advisory board, which provides guidance to the secretary of agriculture on the top priorities and policies for USDA.
