Areas of Focus: Sandra Kiplagat is third year doctoral candidate in Public Health with an Epidemiology concentration at the Florida International University, Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work. Her current research area is examining the mediators, moderators and high-risk latent classes of preterm birth and low birth weight in rural India through a diverse set of statistical methodological approaches. In addition, Sandra is an avid and passionate learner interested in reducing health disparities among marginalized and under-served populations. Most, recently she has been examining barriers and facilitators of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis among Transgender Women of Color in South Florida. Sandra received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Masters in Science in Environmental Science and Policy from Clark University.
