Francisco Becerra
Biography
Dr. Becerra has been involved in international activities and projects which have given him a global perspective. He has had experience of working in projects and consulting in Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa.
Having gathered experience in both the public and private sectors and working with representatives of all levels from Ministries of Health of several countries has allowed Dr. Becerra to bring the best experiences and recommend actions and perspectives to partners.
Dr. Becerra coordinated a FP7 EU funded project (MASCOT) with 11 partners and a 2Mill€ budget, he also participated in the EULAC HEALTH project, another EU funded project.His work has given him the opportunity of being a leader in key research for health meetings, the Ministerial Summit in Mexico (2004) and the 1st and 2nd Latin American Conferences for Research and Innovation for Health, which have brought advances in the Research for Health systems in the LAT region.
In 2024, Dr. Becerra was appointed to courtesy professor in the Department of Global Health. In this role, Dr. Becerra will formalize the processes for the PAHO Collaborating Center status for the department and help launch a new certificate course in Global Health.
