Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition - Didactic Program in Dietetics
Our DPD program is one of only five in Florida that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Graduates of the DPD program will be prepared for a future career in dietetics practice. They receive a verification statement and are qualified to take the credentialing exam for nutrition and dietetic technicians or apply to ACEND-accredited supervised practice programs for future credentialing as a registered dietitian nutritionist.
Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition - Nutrition Science
This program emphasizes a foundation in the basic sciences to prepare students for the nutrition science core curriculum. Students explore optimal health, disease states, human physiology, metabolism and the complex relationship between nutrients and non-nutrients in foods. It provides a strong base for entry into professional programs, such as dentistry, physical or occupational therapy, pharmacy, physician assistantships and nursing.
Minor in Nutrition
This an opportunity for undergraduate students with the time and inclination to learn more about dietetics and nutrition but are not interested in becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
Dietetic Internship
The Dietetic Internship (DI) is a program fully accredited by ACEND that prepares competent entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionists to become ethical and culturally proficient leaders through experiential learning and evidence-based practice.
Career Outcomes
Programs from our Department of Dietetics & Nutrition provide graduates with the opportunity to branch out and work in a wide variety of fields, including health care systems, home health care, food service, private business, research and educational organizations after graduation.
