Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition - Didactic Program in Dietetics
Our DPD program is one of only five in Florida that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Graduates of the DPD program will be prepared for a future career in dietetics practice. They receive a verification statement and are qualified to take the credentialing exam for nutrition and dietetic technicians or apply to ACEND-accredited supervised practice programs for future credentialing as a registered dietitian nutritionist.

Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition - Nutrition Science
This program emphasizes a foundation in the basic sciences to prepare students for the nutrition science core curriculum. Students explore optimal health, disease states, human physiology, metabolism and the complex relationship between nutrients and non-nutrients in foods. It provides a strong base for entry into professional programs, such as dentistry, physical or occupational therapy, pharmacy, physician assistantships and nursing.

This an opportunity for undergraduate students with the time and inclination to learn more about dietetics and nutrition but are not interested in becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

Master of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition
This Master of Science (MS) program (31 credits) expands the knowledge and skills required to build successful careers in the field of nutrition, with a greater emphasis on evidence-based research, clinical science, community, and food service.

Once enrolled, students can choose a general master's program or two optional specializations (these started in 2025): Sports Nutrition or Infant & Childhood Nutrition. Students can also complete the DPD requirements alongside the MS program; DPD requirements will entail additional credits.

Our graduates receive enhanced training to serve the community through the promotion of healthier lifestyles across diverse populations. Graduates are also prepared for enrollment in doctoral programs or to enter professional practice in nutrition and dietetics by applying in the final semester to the Dietetic Internship, which is only open to MS students who hold a DPD verification statement or Declaration of intent (DOI). Graduate students enrolled in the MS program that are concurrently completing DPD courses may request a DOI in their last semester to apply to the Dietetic Internship.

Doctorate in Dietetics and Nutrition
This Ph.D. program prepares graduates to assume leadership roles in research, academia, government agencies, private industry and community-based organizations. It allows students to study and work side-by-side with nationally known educators, researchers, and practitioners who serve as their mentors, with state-of-the-art laboratories for both research and teaching.

Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Nutrition
This is a fully online program offered to students at the post-baccalaureate level to pursue an interdisciplinary concentration in the study of pediatric nutrition. The certificate empowers dietitians, nutritionists and other health care professionals to integrate nutrition into public health care settings with infants, children, adolescents and pregnant and lactating women.

Dietetic Internship

The Dietetic Internship (DI) is a program fully accredited by ACEND that prepares competent entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionists to become ethical and culturally proficient leaders through experiential learning and evidence-based practice.
