Biography

Nadine Mikati, PhD, RDN, LDN, brings over 15 years of diverse experience in teaching, research, clinical management and community nutrition through working with various hospitals, universities, private practice as well as managing ACEND-accredited programs. Dr. Mikati earned her B.S. degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with distinction from the American University of Beirut. She furthered her education with an M.S. degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Wayne State University, followed by a Ph.D. degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Florida International University, where her research primarily focused on obesity prevention. In recognition of her contributions, Dr. Mikati was honored as the Registered Young Dietitian of the Year by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2009. In 2023, she was appointed to the American Society for Nutrition’s Board of Directors as the Early Career Nutrition representative. Currently, Dr. Mikati serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor and DPD Program Director in FIU’s Department of Dietetics and Nutrition.
