Samantha Gonzales

Biography

As a coordinator of statistical research IV, Samantha will play a key role in coordinating and consulting for FIU-STATCONSULT, while collaborating to address omics and big data requests. Additionally, she will provide support to faculty and Ph.D. students.

Samantha graduated with a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of North Texas (UNT). Since graduating, she has worked as a research assistant in the Department of Mathematics at UNT, where she curated and managed extensive datasets for high dimensional and big data statistical analysis while also providing biological context to the development of statistical methods for omics data analysis. This past year she freelanced as a research consultant, where she specialized in conducting large-scale RNA-seq analysis, encompassing quality control, statistical analysis, and utilizing cloud-based/high-performance computing tools.
