Biography
Dr. Olatokunbo Osibogun is an assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Stempel College. She earned her medical degree in Igbinedion University Okada, Nigeria, and later obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2019, she obtained her Ph.D. in public health from Florida International University (FIU) and completed a NIDA T32 postdoctoral fellowship at FIU prior to her academic faculty position at the Department of Epidemiology. In 2019, Dr. Osibogun was a fellow of the American Heart Association's 45th Ten-Day Seminar on the Epidemiology and Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke. Her research primarily focuses on cardiovascular health promotion, tobacco use and women's health. She has received funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN). Currently, Dr. Osibogun leads an ecological momentary assessment study funded by NIDA, which aims to identify barriers and facilitators of harm reduction among adult dual users of e-cigarettes and cigarettes. Additionally, she works with NIH-funded cohort studies, including the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) and the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study.
