Martha Ospina
Biography
Dr. Martha Ospina is a doctoral candidate in Public Policy Modeling from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, a doctor from Javeriana University, a specialist in Public Health Management from ICESI, a Master in Epidemiology from the Universidad del Valle, and a Master in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University and Field Epidemiology.
She has been Vice Minister of Health, Director of Epidemiology and Demography of the Ministry of Health; Director of the High-Cost Account, and has been the chair of Health Risk Management at Javeriana University for 17 years. She is also the first woman in 105 years to lead the National Institute of Health of Colombia, an entity that she directed for 7 years until November 2022. She was also the first Colombian to serve on the Board of Directors of the World Association of National Institutes of Public Health.
With a long history in research and public management, she has more than 50 published articles and participated in the development of more than 20 books, manuals, and protocols. She is currently a special advisor to the Global Health Consortium at Florida International University.
