The FIU Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work is proud to announce the recipients of the Spring 2025 Dean's Excellence Award.

This prestigious recognition honors outstanding students who have not only achieved exceptional academic standing –
maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 – but have also demonstrated extraordinary service to the college, FIU and the broader community.
 

We are incredibly proud to celebrate their accomplishments and their commitment to serving others.

Dr. Daniel Jimenez 
Program: Ph.D. in Social Welfare 

Dr. Sergio Perez Melo 
Program: Ph.D. in Public Health with a concentration in Biostatistics and Data Analytics 

Dr. Deidre Okeke 
Program: Ph.D. in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology 
Dr. Okeke is also the recipient of the FIU Outstanding Graduate Award, an award given to students who are helping shape the future through their bold ideas, relentless dedication, and cutting-edge research.
