FIU Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work continues its ascent in the U.S. News & World Report graduate rankings, with its School of Public Health rising four spots to No. 55 nationally. Among public schools and programs, the program ranked No. 36.

This year, U.S. News & World Report ranked 219 public health schools and programs accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. Rankings were based solely on the results of peer assessment surveys completed by deans, faculty and administrators.

“I want to thank our peers for recognizing the meaningful and impactful contributions from our public health community at FIU,” says Tomás R. Guilarte, dean of FIU Stempel College. “This is truly a testament to the hard work of our researchers, faculty, staff, and students, who remain deeply committed to improving and protecting public health.”

This is the first time the School of Public Health has ranked No. 55 among all U.S. public health programs and schools. The school was first ranked in 2019 by U.S. News & World Report, coming in at No. 78 overall and No. 50 among public schools and programs.

The School of Public Health at Stempel College offers graduate degrees in biostatistics, environmental health sciences, epidemiology, health promotion and disease prevention, and global health. It also offers a generalist Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, which is available online.

The college is also home to the School of Social Work, the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition, and the Academy for International Disaster Preparedness.
