FIU’s Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work is proud to announce the reaccreditation of its Didactic Program in Dietetics. The program is offered under the Bachelor of Science in Dietetics & Nutrition.

The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) Board has extended the full accreditation of the program for a seven-year term, ending December 31, 2032. The decision demonstrates that the program is in compliance with the 2022 ACEND Accreditation Standards.

“The re-accreditation of our DPD ensures we meet the highest national standards, allowing our graduates to pursue dietetic internships and become registered dietitians,” shares Dr. Cristina Palacios, chair of the Department of Dietetics & Nutrition.

ACEND is an autonomous accrediting agency for education programs preparing students to begin careers as registered dietitians or dietetic technicians. ACEND ensures the quality of nutrition and dietetics education to advance the practice of the profession.
